I want to go back to Windows XP

I hate Windows Vista.

Hello, I have recently upgraded (Or downgraded in my personal opinion) to Windows Vista Home Premium and I have had issues with installing drivers for my new video card.
I own an ATI Radeon HD 4670 AGP card (Manufactured by Power Color) and there seems to be no drivers that are compatible with Windows Vista anywhere on the internet. I've attempted to install around six different versions of CCC (Catalyst Control Center) and all its drivers, but the ATI Technologies folder (Found in C:/Program Files) is empty, the installation obviously did nothing, so after five days of this, I'm growing fed up with this issue. What's even more of a problem, is that neither ATI's nor Power Color's sites have any supporting drivers for this card that I have been able to find. Understanding that AGP isn't as up-to-date a card as a PCIe, I would have hoped compatible drivers would be available for Vista at this point.

I'm beginning to try the 8.x versions of the CCC drivers, and still, I'm having nothing but problems. It gets stuck on C++ 2005 Redistributable then says 'failure installing package' or something along those lines it just seems like it's installing everything EXCEPT the drivers I need. It's like it cannot detect my video card. I'm coming to a conclusive opinion on Windows Vista. I hate it. I am becoming overtly frustrated, as I've been doing this for five days. I want to go back to XP, but I can't because Vista is horrible and doesn't want you to "Downgrade" Though, I've never had a single problem with XP. Windows Update won't even work, and everything is slow. It wasn't like this on XP or Windows 7.

At this point, I don't even want to press further for Vista's drivers. I would like help as to how I am to return to XP, I am very low on money at the moment, and I don't think I could actually put aside $90 for a damned disk.

How can I go back to Windows XP on Windows Vista without a disk?

Re: I want to go back to Windows XP

So when you updated to vista you didn't perform a clean install, you did the "upgrade" option right?

Don't.

Do a clean format and a brand new install. Catalyst Control Center is crap, no doubt about it, but it should run fine

Re: I want to go back to Windows XP

You must download the ATI AGP Hotfix drivers for your series of card..

AGP was dropped by ATI in the 3000 and 4000 series of cards... it's not supported... you must contact powercolor or locate the agp hotfix drivers for your card.

You CANNOT just try any driver..... they need to be modified.
