System Hang..

Hi guys, since some time ago I have a curious problem, when I open some folders in windows explorer, the computer uses all of its installed ram and the system became unstable... The folders use to contain documents. I thought it was the HDD, but some times the same ocurr when I save a document in Word 2007 or when I browse the contents of my pen drive.

My HDD is a Maxtor 250 Gb SATA, I use Windows vista ultimate x64 with 2 gigs of ram (one stick, kingston value).

I tried windows 7 beta and I had the same problem. Any ideas? Thanks

Re: System Hang..

are you saying that your system locks up because (you suspect) you don't have enough ram for browsing?

i found that on my old laptop (HP dv9000, 2gb ram, 320gb hdd, vista ultimate) vista used around 65% on idle blank desktop...try ctrl + alt + dlt and check task manager processes to see if anything is chewing up more RAM than it should.

Re: System Hang..

you probably have a memory leak problem. I would do a ram test first
