Can't Run A Game With Vista Ultimate

Hello, I'm new to the forum.

I recently downloaded "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic" from Direct 2 Drive. Unfortunately, it won't run properly on my machine. I did some googling and found a user with a similar problem who said it was an OpenGL issue. So, here I am. FYI, I know very little about GPUs, and, in fact, I don't even know what OpenGL is.

I have a ATI Radeon HD 4550 GPU and I'm running Vista Ultimate, Service Pack 2. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks!

You need to be more specific as to what the problem is. Run Properly means....

KOTOR 1+2: Vista Fix & Windows 7 Report - LucasForums

You don't need to worry about the install procedure, but the rest of the first post should work for you. The key thing to note is that you need to run the game in Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode, as well as switch out the Transform and Lighting file for the hacked, or rather "fixed" one.

Also take note of number 6 in the second post about the "Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1". Even though it's listed as a Windows 7 fix it's also need for the Vista install too.
