Quick Defragmenter.....How Do I Remove It
Apparently while browsing the web last night my son picked up some form of malware called "Quick Defragmenter". It's giving him all kinds of error messages about his hard drive. I've done some checking and found out this thing is some kind of malware. Would anyone have any ideas on how to remove it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW, my son's OS is Vista Home Premium 32-bit.

Malware Bytes Anti-Malware should properly remove it.
It's all fake errors they use to push into buying other software I'd imagine. There's many malware software like that. |

Re: Quick Defragmenter.....How Do I Remove It
Well, I was unable to do anything for my son's computer. I downloaded the Malware Bytes program on my computer and put it on a disk to install the program on my sons computer. My son's computer will not allow the file on the disk to be viewed. I can't access the internet from his computer so I have no way of transferring the setup file to my son's computer. I guess it's reformat and then reinstall windows. Anybody else have any suggestions?

Re: Quick Defragmenter.....How Do I Remove It
Just thought I'd report that my son's computer problems have been resolved. The Malware Bytes worked to some extent but not completely. Somebody at work today reminded me about system restore and I gave that a shot returning his computer to what it was four days ago. He's back up and running, thank goodness.
Just want to say thanks to iPlayer and Trysonswood for their efforts to help me out. Thanks, guys. Appreciate it.
