Beige Windows Photo Gallery (Vista Ult x64 SP2)
System specs in my sig. It's well tested to be stable and has no other issues.
Basically, the problem is that whites appear beige/yellow in Windows Photo Gallery. I run Microsoft's "Fix it" program, which identifies and fixes the problem. But then, after a short while, it comes back. In this (cropped) screenshot: -Google in Firefox, as it's supposed to look. -Part of a (.jpg) screenshot of the very same google in the very same Firefox, as it appears in Windows Photo Gallery - notice that it's a different colour? (Depending on your monitor this may be more or less visible, I guess.) -Microsoft's "Fix it" program and it's identification of the problems and solutions behind this (the "will not start" that it diagnoses is not something that I experience). ![]() Is there any way I can fix this permanently?

Re: Beige Windows Photo Gallery (Vista Ult x64 SP2)
I recall seeing something very similar. I used to always get that off white color around pics in the windows viewer. I haven't seen that on my end in awhile, but I remember Judas chattn about it. Thought he said it had something to do with the driver installed for your monitor, or the color profiles in Control Panel.
maybe this can be of assistance? http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...2-139bda7b03ed Last edited by [hobo]eclipse; Nov 10, 2011 at 01:51 AM. |

Re: Beige Windows Photo Gallery (Vista Ult x64 SP2)
i know how to fix this
go into the advanced properties for your display adapter... then go to color management.. alternatively you should be able to do a start menu search for color management .. then go into ALL PROFILES.. in this section... select ANY AND ALL profiles that state your monitors name... for example i've an asus monitor... a VE278Q.... or another one is Samsung 2343BWX select the monitors listed, and REMOVE them.. apply the settings and exit... open your windows photo gallery image ... or preview image... it should fix your beige color issue.. a restart may be necessary... For me... i had to actually REMOVE the monitor profile from the list.. i couldn't just select the advanced settings and change it to the default from the monitors own color profile.... because i think on restart or whenever i did a driver update to the display adapter or went into safe mode or whatever.... it always seemed to pop back.. and it's a non critical profile.... so why keep it around anyways.

Re: Beige Windows Photo Gallery (Vista Ult x64 SP2)
here.. this is the thing your looking for..
only take into consideration... i DO NOT have any of my monitor profiles (they were removed) Also keep in mind this is windows 7.... but if i recall right.. windows vista basically looks mostly identical. ![]() This is what your Advanced options should look like for the most part... make sure your monitor is not selected...
