I hate the name Vista

reminds me of a car name.....like "VISTA CRUISER"....

all I see is a huge wide GM product with wood paneling and stuff with as much as it can hold traveling down the highway like a land yacht.....

I forsee much bloating and consternation on the horizen for MS users.

but of course I havent used or seen a beta version yet.

I've had the beta installed and I'm sure you wouldn't change your mind, so don't waste time on it. Maybe when it's finally done over a year from now and utilities like nLite can chop off most of the bulging blubber. Then it might prove a good core for the 2007 and onwards. Perhaps by then we have learned to stomach the lame Macintosh style name, or maybe Microsoft adds to it something like "Windows Vista 2007" so that we can just call it Win2k7.

I agree w/jeff on this one. Windows Vista is the lamest name ever. However, that is what MSFT chose to call their next OS, so I will have to deal with it. But win2k7 is a nice alternative

well I think its better than longhorn, sounds like a preshistoric grasseater.

I think they should take a leaf out of Apple's book. I mean Tiger, Jaguar, all that, very cool names.

Vista is cheesy, most commonly used like "valley vista" an istituation for troubled kids
kinda of a mix between prision, a heath spa, a juvi hall.. LOL
