Sad How do I share this...?

I have a home network. On one of my computers, I have an external 300 gig hard drive connected through USB 2.0. My drive is partitioned (C:=Windows XP D:=Windows Vista). In windows XP, I have the 300 gig external drive shared so that the other people in my home can use the drive. Naturally the drive shows a hand under it to indicate it is shared in the "My Computer" window. When I boot Vista, I can see the other computers through the network and everything is great. The external dirve shows there and I can access and use it without failure. The only trouble is, I cannot, for the life of me, get the 300 gig external drive to share on the network. I can see the computer that hosts the drive while I'm using either of the other two computers, and I can access the host computers files and folders, but not the network drive attached to it. Does anyone know what I should do to get this corrected? I will try anything and everything. Thanks so much!
