ULtRaXP is on a distinguished road

there was a few errors for my installation... 2 of them required a internet explorer 6 sp1(?) and the other one had that command line error..everything else went smoothly. Also, i did a benchmark in sisoft sandra before and after installing the update, and there was a consistent little drop in many areas(although just a few points)

Thumbs Up!

I downloaded it and installed it.......took forever to install......had an error on #8, #12, and #27. Seems to be the same error's as ULtRaXP. XP does seem to be much more responsive. Don't notice much difference in bench marks. Not even sure how mine compare's with other systems.

It's probably looking for this patch that came out for IE 6 after sp1.

http://microsoft.com/technet/treevie...n/MS02-068.asp

It can be downloaded here.

Here's something for all you tweakers....
Goto run type in regedit
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Control\Se ssion Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters

Create a DWORD REG File
Name it: LargePageMinimum
Hexidecimal is this:0xffffffff
Decimal is this (4294967295)
Save and reboot
NOTE:THIS IS ONLY FOR AMD SYSTEMS

Another tweak I've found Improves System responce
Goto run type in diskperf hit ok and reboot

im not into the benchmarks to much but if you can see the difference in over all usage then the bench marks should be higher alil...

Me AMD fan all the way , man! I'm running an athlonXP 1800+ Palomino(0.18u..sux) on an MSI KT3 Ultra 333,with 256mb DDR2100...
I also noticed a it more responsiveness, it's just the benchmarks that's bugging me. I had expected higher scores than pre-SP1 setup.

Bluetooth is some kind of nifty wireless tech that hasn't quite fully made it mainstream yet, isn't it?

use HFNetChkLT

I use HFNetChkLT it checks your pc for missing patches and then give you links to where you can download it from MS, works good and always keeps your pc up2date and sercure.

Tweaks I posted

The Tweaks I posted were taken from where they were on my system ....the location may be different ...it was brought to my attention that the ControlSet003 location was not on some folks systems ...if that area is not available or non existant then it should be in ControlSet 001 or somewhere in the area of this reg key local machine \system\control\sessionmanager\memory management\prefetchparameters

Value Name: LargePageMinimum
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 0xFFFFFFFF in Hex / 4294967295 in Decimal

True, but the updated service pack only handles the anti-trust-related Java things, no new added patches as far as i can tell...

I agree
As I did with SP1

Just creates more wasted time trying to fix certain aspects of the Betas as it did last fall

Video and Audio Betas are fun to play with:
But OS Service packs???
I wish to be sure from now on
