.Net Framework.....

There is just one update left for me to download on Windows Update - .Net Framework.
I have held back downloading it for ages because.......I don't know what it is! Haha!
Can anyone shed any light? What advantages or (perhaps more importantly) disadvantages will it give?

There is no advantage unless you have software that requires it.
