Anyway to turn a laptop 'recovery' disc into a generic windows install?
I was hoping to install a win 98 se partition on my computer, so i could dual boot and play some older games that won't run in xp... i have an old win 98 se laptop that still has the recovery disc, and i was wondering if there is someway to use that disc and create a normal general win98 install.
I used WinImage to isolate the win98.pak... but im not sure what to do with it? Any magic that can be done? Thanks! |

A better solution to using that machine for use of Win98 to game on would be to use the supplied Restoration CD in the manner intended, then remove any software you don't want that slows the machine down.
Be sure to double check the restrictions of use for your Restoration discs. Most Restoration disks are intended to be used on and for the machine they were supplied with. Discussion of attempts to use software in violation of copyright is not allowed in these forums.
