NTFS vs FAT32: Performance NOT Security

Is there any significant performance difference between the NTFS filesystem and FAT32? I know NTFS has more advanced security features, but is that all?

From my own personal experience I've found that it's much easier to restore a faulty HD that is formatted with NTFS than with FAT32. I've been able to restore several non-bootable system drives just using the Error Checking api.

If you haven't migrated to NTFS, I strongly recommend you do so.

in terms of the overall performance...

FAT32 - High on small volumes Low on large
NTFS - Low on small volumes High on large
