Hi everyone,

does anybody know what a beautiful blue screen with the error pagefault in non paged area 0x00000050 mean?
i think it's a problem with my net connection maybe...
I've got win XP pro, 512 ddr, p4 1,7g, nvidia geforce2 mx400...
thanx a lot, it begins to make me nervous...

re

"The Stop 0x50 message indicates that requested data was not in memory. The system generates an exception error when using a reference to an invalid system memory address. Defective memory (including main memory, L2 RAM cache, video RAM) or incompatible software (including remote control and antivirus software) might cause Stop 0x50 messages."
i forgot where i got the above from anyway i like to suggest If you added new hardware or software recently, then try to redo it.

Is the same application/game causing this problem? Or is it everything?

If it's everything it's going to be a hardware problem of some kind I'd say. Memory is probably the first place to start. If you've got more than one stick of memory try taking one out and trying the computer. If it works then you've got a bad stick. If it fails, then swap the sticks over and try again. If it still fails then it's something else.

If it's one app/game then could you tell us what it is?

Try swapping the memory sticks if you can and see if that helps.

a real mess

i've formatted everything 3 days ago and it's worse:

i've tried to turn my hard disk to ntfs and it didn't finish the process

i still have blue screens where bill speaks about pagefaultinnonpagedarea, memory management, minidump, win32K.sys, sysdata.xml, nv4-disp.dll

the blue screens appear whatever i do, while making music everything stops or when i close a simple window, i'm watching a dvd and the image stops, goes (the lights of the hd and the dvd stay lit), sometimes it reboots and i only have the picture of my desktop, i let emule or kazaa working and when i come home i've got a message saying they met a problem....i can't open some documents because of a file error system (after reboot it works), a cd seems to be well burned but doesnt work at all and can't be read on any computer....all my programs have problem so....

i think it's a virus or a hardware pblem, i seem a bit naive but i'm a bit lost and tired of all this shit

thank u

re

i would backup(needed files to 2nd HDD or another partition)then do a fresh install again, by picking out to format the XP partition with ntfs when asked and if the installation went good then i assume that all hardwares including ram(s) is okay at the point. and if the SP wasn't included in the installation and you never find any errors same as before.. anyway pls post reply then i might have a fix for you.

this points to a stick of ram that is either faulty,or not seated properley i had that many b.o.d that i did not think there could be so many,i had puled the ram tried different configurations and would have staked my life that it was seated properley i ended up buying a new motherboard and upgrading the cpu. When i removed the old motherboard i oticed one stick of ram was not level by a hairs breath although the clips had clipped in,from the outside of the case you would swear that it was fully seated and to press any harder i was worried i would crack the motherboard.i also used a ram checking program if i can find it i will post the link.the ram testing program is at

i pulled one of the sticks off and no blue screen till then...i also found with mc afee that a virus called pate.b thought my windows 32 was its home...i think i'm gonna reinstall but i'm afraid my hd or the initial cd of xp pro is infected...i've got a version of xp home, but i can't install it with the way i usually do (cd I386 install), i've tried setup exe but it doesn't work, even when i boot on the cd....
when will it end?

re

- remove the virus
- disable the system restore utility to remove the infected files from the C:\_Restore folder (reboot)
- select in mc-afee to scan "all files" and run a full system scan to "repair" the infected files.
- navigate to the key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer in right pane delete the value "PINF" (reboot)
- re-enable the restore utility if you use it
- if its nomore error then you can try to reinstall the removed ram...

It sounds like Lolwo is not doing a full format from dos and then reinstalling. If I had all those problems (which I never should because I scan every individual file that I ever download from the internet) I would format and reinstall. I don't see how a virus can come back to your windows folder after that.

I mean, unless it's in the bios, which I doubt, how is that possible? Is there a virus that survives a complete format? If so, I would like to know about it.

Well it seems like if you formay c:/ and reinstall windows, and scan whatever other drives there are on the system the virus would be gone. At least it should be. Is there another operation system on the other drive? If not I would scan and clean it the best you could and then format that as well. Unless you are installing your OS from a hard drive, in which case you are screwed. You will have to format BOTH partitions and then reinstall OS from a known good disk. Sounds like the virus won this round. Just remember to scan every file you download w/ an up-to-date anti-virus program before you open it. Doing this has saved me so many times, especially if I am using a peer-to-peer program. Sounds like a real pain, that would drive me nuts.
