Re: Presario C571 : Enabling S-Video Output in XP

Hi Guys,
I'm delighted to inform you that I finally got my T.V out function working. It turns out all I needed to do was connect an audio-out cable from the laptop's headphone jack to one of the T.V's audio-in RCA jacks simultaneously with the S-video connection to the 2 remaining T.V RCA jacks. That way the S-video cable only relays the video signal & the audio cable relays the sound. I connected them as follows: Yellow S-video cable to Yellow RCA T.V jack, White S-video cable to Green RCA T.V jack & finally Black audio cable from laptop Headphone jack to Red T.V jack (Note: The Red S-video cable & the Red audio cables remain unused, just let them hang) .Once I did this the T.V was detected by the laptop & the multiple display options in the Intel GMA console were enabled. I don't know the technical details behind it, all I know is that it works & that's good enough for me. The picture & sound quality is great. I'm now playing STALKER on my laptop using the big T.V. screen & a USB gamepad. Next, some FIFA 08 & NFS. Totally awesome dude! It's like having my own X-Box or PS 2. Oh such great fun.

Re: Compaq Presario C500

Hi Mr. Ace,

Hope you can help me out. I bought a HP pavilion dv4 Entertainment Notebook PC (dv4-1162tx) with pre-installed vista home premium and tried downgrade it to windows server 2003 R2 and couldn't find drivers for HP Integrated Module, Audio and Modem and there's i think 8 yellow exclamation mark on my device manager with device ID ACPI\PNP0C32\1 to ACPI\PNP0C32\8 which is i reckon these are the quick launch button devices. Just wondering if you had experience on this kind of issue finding dv4 drivers for windows server 2003. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance then.

Cheers,

Paul

Re: Compaq Presario C500

BTW.. i tried your post here but no luck. installed UAA first then manually installed conexant and got the error message "cannot start this hardware" after installing the device driver same in modem device driver. I have been after the right drivers for about 2 months now hehehe.. but still hoping that in the future will find these rare drivers. :-((

exclamation Re: Compaq Presario C500

Hey All,

I found this thread while trying to resolve the dreaded "Unknown Device" (like everyone else) for a buddie's Compaq C-504US after a clean install of XP Pro SP3 to what was previously a Vista Home O.S. factory setup.

There was nothing in this topic that took care of the one "Unknown Device" I had, but I did find the driver and thought I would post for any other forlorn souls out there.

I am NOT a fan of allowing MS Windows Update install any hardware diver 'Updates' as they frequently are DEAD WRONG and will cause a B.S.O.D.; but I looked at the five 'Updates' it had for this, and one was for "Hewlett-Packard - Other hardware - HP Quick Launch Buttons". Even though there were no "HP Quick Launch Buttons" installed on this model, this 'Update' fixed it!

Anyhow, I hope this helps someone...

..\SWSetup\SP33442

You should still be seeing Yellow Question marks for two(2) deivces in Device Manager. One is for the Audio and one is for the Modem.

You need to make sure you have installed MS AUU driver first. When you install this program, it will install into the following folder:
..\SWSetup\SP32646\Disk1
There are no .inf files, just a setup.exe file to run.

Next, you need to "manually" install the Audio and Modem drivers:

A. Right click on the Audio device, Select Update Driver
B. At the first dialog, select "No, not this time" when prompted to connect to Windows Update.
C. At the next dialog, select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)".
D. At the next dialog, select "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install".
E. When prompted to select the device driver you want to install for this hardware, do not choose anything but click the "Have Disk..."-button.
F. Select Browse and navigate to the installation folder for ..\SWSetup\33443

It will contain 15 files and a SmartAudio folder. Point to the CPL30A5a.inf file.

For the Modem, follow the same steps, except this time point to the ..\SWSetup\33442 folder. It will contain 14 files. Point to the CPL30A5m.inf file.

Notice both .inf files have the same name except the last letter, where a = audio and m = modem.

??? Re: Compaq Presario C500

Hi all
I'm new to the site. I have a problem with my Compaq Presario C500. The unit came with Vista installed. I decided to downgrade to XP pro. I have been able to download all necessary drivers which work except I cannot get the system to recognise the touchpad. I do not wish to go back using Vista. Any suggestions would be appreciated

So after 3 years of trying to fix this issue... I give up

j/k I just wanted to say thanks again for this community for helping with this issue. I ended up googling my name and this was the first web-page that came up. Fond memories of trying to battle with this C500 haha.

well this is an old thread but I just recently found it because I too dumped vista and went back to xp...
on intel site I used winxp_14324.exe to clear up my error with the vga video driver
sp35272.exe - installed modem driver on June 1, 2011 for win xp on compaq presario c500
sp35940.exe - installed sound on june 1, 2011 for xp
I found LAN_ALLOS_5.639.01.0118.2006_PV_REALTEK_V2 WORKED FOR MY LAN ISSUE
I lost track of which of these following files worked for the other issues I had:
sp33008.exe for wireless lan
sp35270.exe conexant smart audio
sp22528.exe????
sp31637.exe for ati drivers...not mine
sp34683.exe winflash bios
sp35272.exe conexant driver modem xp
sp35444.exe Synaptics Touchpad Driver Compaq Presario
sp35940.exeConexant Audio Driver (32-bit) Compaq Presario
sp35939.exeDriver Synaptics touchpad XP sp37065.exe

I either got them off the intel webite or HP's website and now I have no errors...good luck
