ACPI Notebook with MPS Multiprocessor PC ?

Hi.
I hope I'm finaly at the right forum.

My NoteBook is a HP DV8000t Dual core
I had to change from ACPI multiprocessor, to MPS Multiprocessor PC
to get rid of severe audio dropouts that I had with my firewire audio card (TC Konnekt24D)

There are a few side effects that I can live with:

-the good old "it is now safe to turn off your computer" is back
- The Texas Instruments flashMedia won't install (yellow ! on the drivers)
- Yellow ! on Intel PCI Express root port 27D0 & 27D2
(the third one 27d4 seems OK)

beside that everything seems to work fine.

The question is, if there is something else that I'm not aware of.
Any idea?

The touchpad's driver refuses to install.
