Windows Media Player 9 question
I like almost everything about WMP9, but there's one thing about it that annoys the hell out of me and I can't figure out how to change it. Everytime I view a video full screen, the video controls pop up and slowly autohide. That doesn't bother me so much aside from the fact that it resizes the video while the controls are up. I don't know why, but that just annoys me.
I've looked through every option I could find, and searched for help online, but I haven't even found mention of this "feature" anywhere. All I want to do is either permenantly hide the controls while in full screen mode or make it so that the video doesn't resize while they're up. That's it. If somebody can tell me how to do that, I'd be eternally grateful. - Me |

That's weird, it doesn't really annoy me. Try looking in the registry though.

Excellent. That's just what I was looking for. I couldn't get it to install at first, but being the l337 h4x0r I am (
), I extracted the files from the EXE using WinRAR and manually pointed Windows Media Player to the DLL file. It's a little bit buggy, but it's way better than it was before. Thanks for the heads up. ![]() - Me |

Well, if you are the l337 h4x0r you say you are then why couldn't you figure out that WMP already has this built in? It looks like you haven't looked through every option because I just found an option that, when you switch to full-screen mode, allows you to view the video without any controls so that it's just pure full screen just like with the older WMP6 series. I knew I saw this before but only today did I change the option. It is located in Tools»Options»Performance (tab) » Click "Advanced". On the right hand side, you will see the option "Display full-screen controls". Uncheck this option = problem solved. I guess that prog's ok if you wanna customize WMP more but if full-screen video is what you want, without those stupid controls. When I have it disabled now and it just pops up full screen instead of that slow-mo thingie it's so much better.

Thanks for the tip, though, I'll certainly remember it from now on. I do prefer this tweaking plugin, though.. I've got it customized just perfectly now. ![]() - Me |
