it will mostly depend on you. it's the fact that, each has their own experience with their computer system, so my best suggest to you is for you to try both Windows's by yourself and you'll know.

also, you may find most of same answer in this page http://www.hardwareheaven.com/hardware...n-400-mhz.html goes to the question you are asking here just now.

Tx for you answer.
But, it's totally different case.
The only debil point, in this case, is the CPU.

okay. my next best suggestion is:
if you need to buy a new copy of Windows, then i suggest you buy Windows XP.
if you don't have to buy it and you are already have both Windows versions, then i suggest you try them out for yourself.
if you are already have a copy of Windows 2000, then i suggest you keep using it.

To Buy or not to buy, is not the question

i really appreciate your time

With only 128MB, I'd be thinking Win98SE - unless there is absolutely no possibility, I'd make upgrading the memory a priority, though I guess it may be using an older spec than SDRAM, which may be expensive / impossible to go any larger with.

Seems to me you want very much to hear other opinion's, more than to try them out and see which Windows version suits your needs, even in term of performance?? it's difficult to tell you what is best between the two in just some short lines, and without missing many important things, i think it’s almost impossible that you can get a right answer to the question at all. in one's experience, one of the Windows's is better than the other, or both are equally the same, this will be depend upon the users who's configuring and use the Windows system, each has different interests and experience with the OS.

Dear friend you are all right.
As I´m not using the machine (it's my girlfrinds computer) so, i can't keep trying the best solution for the best performance.

okay, then.
btw, don't you think it will be better to let your friend try them both and make a decision for herself on what OS she likes to use the most?

I would still say that windows XP will perform quite likely better, and will generally have alot better overall support...

If i can run windows XP SP2 overall better then windows 98/me on a compaq P90mhz 72mb of ram, 1.6gb HD and 256kb onboard video, i'm sure that system will handle XP quite nicely.
