System Emegency! HOW TO BACK UP REG IN DOS??

How can I backup the Windows XP Pro registry in DOS because my friend's comp jus fucked and he needs to save his reg file.
anyone know where it is????
please give a reply asap

you could try im not sure where it would save thought ..... reg copy /s...or save the hive in by themselfs....i dont know to much about the command of the reg.....type REG /? for more help if those dont work

uh do i jus use the boot disk and type it at c:/ or do i go into the windows reg??

Well here are all the reg parameters:

REG QUERY
REG ADD
REG DELETE
REG COPY
REG SAVE
REG RESTORE
REG LOAD
REG UNLOAD
REG COMPARE
REG EXPORT
REG IMPORT

I would try reg restore or reg export.
