Omega Drivers on Win XP x64?

I love OmegaDrivers, but I just installed Win XP x64, and I just want to be sure there are no compatibility issues with Omega Drivers on x64. Has anyone tried them? It does not mention 64-bit OS's on the site as far as I could tell.

Thanks.

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven.

Currently the omega drivers don't support windows x64 edition. Since they are totally different drivers (64-bit) than normal omega drivers (32-bit). So you should use the drivers that are made for windows x64 edition.

Thanks a lot. That's disappointing news though. I've been using Omega Drivers since I first discovered them years ago. I regret getting a 64 bit OS simply for not being able to use these awesome drivers now...

From what I've read, you're in for even more disappointments with the 64-bit OS. Driver support across the board is very limited. You'd really, honestly, be better off sticking with XP SP2 and enjoy the system more.

What you've read must have been written by people that havent used XP x64. I've been using it for over a year now, and the only thing that I couldn't use was my MX700 mouse, since Logitech decided not to support MouseWare for 64 bit OSs. That just gave me an excuse to upgrade to the MX Revolution, so in a way it wasn't all bad

Also, if you will note my sig...I run both versions of XP, and x64 is definately the better of the two.

In some ways, you just proved my point. What I've read is that driver support is quite limited....which is what happened with the MX700 in your case.

I guess it all depends on whether a person has the funds available to buy what is supported as opposed to what they've already got onhand that may not be supported.

Driver support has been the main issue among those criticizing the 64-bit version. I would assume that, all things considered, if all the hardware is working properly, it would be a better system.

Not at all. Thr MX700 would work just fine. It's just that the setpoint software wouldn't. For a lot of folks that wouldn't be a problem since they don't use it anyway. Same with my keyboard. It was bundled with the MX700, and the software for all of the 'features' won't work in x64, but since I never used them anyway, the lack of support for it is a non-issue.
