Seti@home HELP needed!!
Hello guys I'd like to run Seti@home at some computers at my work/school but I don't want the admins to see I'm running seti @ their computers so my question is...How can I run seti on a windows 2000 based platform without the Seti being discovered, or at least seen on the screen
Also I'd like to run seti on Windows XP computer from my family.... Anyone? Some hints: - Running it as a service perhaps (but without Admin) - Running as a dos program? |

A word of advice, if I may.
We have a team on my site, and we have had several members in the last year lose their jobs because of doing exactly this. It only takes one person to find out and ask what it is for you to get caught, and I can promise you it's not worth your job over it. Unless you are the admin, or are extremely good friends with people high up, I would really think hard before doing this. I just hate to see people lose income because of something so trivial, and trust me, I have been running SETI and other DC projects for years, and I know how tempting it is to do just this! (I have access to ALOT of pc's at work, but it's just not worth it). Just my 2 cents. Talon
