??? Isass.exe system error....

Hello,

I have swap the family PC to another case, added no new hardware just un screwed it all and put in a new case

I switch it on it loads to windows and just before the logon screen gives error,

Does it in safe mode aswell

What has happened, its all the same parts no new hardware added !!

Even the sound card and network card are in the same PCI slots

Running Windows XP Pro with SP1.

Needs to be fixed with out formatting

I have Win XP Pro CD

I have tried getting to the recovery console but it wont let me use it asks for a password

There are no passwords on the system and never have been

Any ideas ?

Are you sure it's not lsass.exe? Anyway, try searching google--that's what I do whenever I get some weird error/problem.

can you use F8 to select "use the most recent configuration..."? there's no quick fix for this one you can try to search for it.. and please let me know if you really find a fix i mean an actuall fix for it!

Have you tried re-installing XP without formatting ?... this will save all the stuff on your

hard drive

if you use xp-pro cd to install, you should be able to use F8 during boot time or you might need to do a repair install. but if it's pre-installed then no fix. you wont be able to fix it easily at your end.

either way i would format it after i got my needed files from the partition.
