funster.... imo that's a bit inappropriate...
he/she is a new user.... not everyone is going to instantly KNOW everything off the bat.... Either way.... robhayter, is this windows xp or windows vista? Also PangingJR would likely have the best solution to do this.

Is this related to the online backup P2P program called AllMyData? If so, you should check out their support forum HERE. From what I remember the location for the temp folder wasn't changeable. At least that was my understanding having used version 2.
Edit: found THIS post on their forum that was dated Feb.21.08 in relation to beta 3. Quote: "1. The temporary cache is currently in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Allmydata . It is not currently editable but will be in the near future." |

technically you could change the %applicationdata% path, or did they hardcode the location?
(of course this moves everything else that's in application data too, but that shouldnt be too big other than firefox's cache) |

Not sure if it's hard coded or not, but there is no mention of that path anywhere in the registry. It gets created during the install, and is used for everything, such as a cache folder, and for storing logs. What's dumb about this is that folder gets used no matter how many users there are using the program. So, if you have 5 users they all use that same folder.

As far as I can tell, Allmydata is no longer P2P, except the test version under development "tahoe."
knOOton: how would I go about changing the path assuming it's not hard coded (although we don't know this for sure)? I don't mind if the FireFox cache gets moved too, I'm trying to move this temp folder to an empty 75GB partition anyway. |
