Xp Driver - Ssony Vaio Vgn-cr35

hi

i just got a sony vaio vgn-cr35 with vista, and... well... i *HATE* it!! dont get me wrong, it's a kick-ass laptop, but the vista is not good.
i want to downgrade to xp, but want to be sure it will work properly (like all the drivers available) and, well, thats why i'm here i did complete format of harddrive, and installed XP 2006 Professional (the one i use for my desktop) but nothing works - even the resolution

i've already taken an 'x-copy' through CMD using floppy of the whole harddrive as-was when i first got it, so if anything goes wrong, i can restore, but dont want to as it would be vista, not xp

any help would be enormously appreciated

thanks,
H.{elixcs}

We're seeing with laptops that only support Vista, that it is difficult to get XP drivers for them. Laptops are proprietary, so drivers typically come from the manufacturer. If they don't write XP drivers, support for the hardware can only come from the public, and even then it's often shotty. You also miss out on the system specific fuctions with these sort of releases.

Personally, I'd just stick with Vista. It's not as bad as everyone says. My guess is, if you are relying on modified driver support for your XP installation, there are going to be way more issues with that than the natively supported OS.

yea, but it is possible to get drivers that, at least, work, wight?
the thing is, vista is just pure annoying, and a buggy xp, i think, would be better than a perfectly working OS that makes you wana sell the laptop.

nywy, if its possible, could you just point me in the right direction, and ill start hunting?
thnxz

Yes it's possible but don't expect that all things will work. If I recall correctly that laptop has AMD's gfx chip and it has ton of issues with OpenGL ...
