directx 8.2 download-how?

Hello all, I am having problems with Win 2000 on a Dell Inspiron 8000. I downloaded the Nvidia driver for the video on the thing and it said I needed Directx 8.2 Unfortunately, the only way to get directx from Microsoft is to download and install it. This computer is not networked so I have no way to download and install it. Is there anyway to download and save directx 8.2 without having to install it directly from Microsoft?

Download the DirectX Redistributable March 2008 then either burn it to a disk.. or put on a usb storage device...

You can download the DX Redist from Here.

Or the other option is to use a Game Disk, all games carry the DX 9.0c files.

Thankyou for the info

Thanks for the info. I did find a way to download directx 9.0 and save it. My problem now is that I have downloaded and installed the proper driver for this laptop, unfortunately, Win 2000 will not recognize the installation but still has a "vga" adapter for the video. How do I get Win 2000 to recognize and accept this driver.
