so before you got 14 programs to run and then what happens? in order to have more programs to be seen in your taskbar, simply widen it.

i apologize if this isnt your issue but if it is, widening the taskbar will allow you to have better access to your programs.

ok, in windows XP, right-click the taskbar and un-check the "Lock the Taskbar" option

then left-click and hold the top edge of the taskbar and slide upward to widen

thats it!

i hope that helps....

ok, do you know how to make windows bigger and smaller by clicking the edge and you adjust the size?

the same idea is used here, you actually widen the taskbar like you would a program window....

i do hope i was clear enough... thanks for being so patient

Procedure to increase size of taskbar:

  • Point anywhere on an empty part of the taskbar and a context menu will appear. Untick the option 'Lock the taskbar'
  • In the event that the 'Lock the taskbar' option does not appear in the context menu, then you should click on 'properties' instead. The tickbox for 'lock the taskbar' will appear within the next dialogue. So you untick this box and then click Apply>OK
  • Then hover your mouse pointer over the very top edge of the taskbar until the moise pointer changes to an up-down arrow.
  • Once you have the up-down arrow, hold down the right mouse button and drag the taskbar up your screen until it reaches your desired size and then you can release the right mouse button.
  • Your taskbar should now have increased in size!!!
