Is it possible to remove icons from Windows XP start menu (to look more like Vista). Just icon not the shortcuts as shown on screenshot:

The only way you'd do that is if you found a theme with a compact start menu as far as i remember

it's probably some sort of registry hack that's ubber complicated or something. way beyond me though if it is a registry hack...

Go to stardock's website or wherever you got your skinning utility from and post it up on their forums, they might be able to shed some light on it

Change the start menu to the classic version.
