The purpose of this guide is to turn your 32 bit XP into a fastest "Operational" BEAST, squeeze extra RAM (if you have 4GB+ RAM or more better), Reduce I/Os request to disk while OS if fully loaded, Install programs at fastest speed possible.
Requirements: 0. 4 GB RAM (more, better!) 1. Partition where Windows will be installed should NOT be above 2GB! 2. Programs "SuperSpeed RamDisk 9.x", "SuperSpeed SuperVolume or SuperCache" (they come together anyways in setup), XPLite 3. You should know where to find the software ![]() 4. Recommended Tweakers: X-Setup, TuneXP 1.5 (Not recommended: any tweakers with .NET bullcrap) Now, install XP as you normally do: Run XPLite and take out as much garbage as you can (more space, better boot time performance!), setup everything in control panel, gpedit.msc, MSCONFIG, etc. Next, download those tweakers (run it and optimize if you already have it) Next, download and install SuperVolume (super cache will come with it though). Check your drive's properties page, it will have another tab "performance" so go there and enable it with care. (If your partition is bigger then available RAM, you're screwed cauz I told you to make it 2GB below earlier). Now, install RamDisk and click "memory" button in toolbar, click "Unmanaged" button, then "Configure" button, enable un-managed memory and Direct Access. Next, click "Options" button and enable "Advanced wizards". Now create RamDisk (Total memory - 3.25 GB limited available memory = your unmanaged memory). See unmanaged button to see how much is available and create RamDisk (R drive is what i kept with save settings at exit )Now change your TEMP, TMP (from User and System environment variables) to R:\TEMP. Move your temporary internet files (IE options) to R: drive. Use tweaking programs to change path of "Program Files" to another drive that has space. Install only the MOST frequent programs such as "Player", "Codecs", "Viewers", "WinRAR", "UltraISO" (to mount disk images ), "FireWall", "uTorrent", "Download Managers" etc type important apps on OS partitions. Never install NERO type apps there... Understand Pros and Cons! Cons: System will take 20-30 sec longer (remember, target is operations not boot) Pros: SuperVolume will take Image of your 2GB partition and save it to RAM at boot time, all changes are written to partition but data is read from RAM Image (so everything will execute fast from Ram image!) Unmanaged RAM space will be taken by RamDisk (which can be used for Setup, Internet and other temp files). Either of ways, your disk I/Os will reduce. XP Laptops with 4GB will save lots of battery ![]() Parts of this guide can also be used for 64Bit XP, You can have RAM half free and half for operations (cache or volumeCache)

I've installed these programs on my OS partition:
1. Agnitum Outpost FireWall 4 (i hate the newers )2. JLC Internet TV (tiny app 200k) 3. RadioSure (Net Radio) 4. MassDownloader (my favorite) 5. UltraISO 6. Unlocker 7. WinRAR 3.82 Leaked 8. K-Lite with imp codecs only (ffdshow + mplayerc) 9. Opera (about:config Cache set to R: ) generally bulky programs are out there (portableappz.blogspot.com) has good ones which you don't have to install through their pesky home setup and spoil registry. (Photoshop CS4, nero etc ). these days all software call back home (vandals!) Those who want to try out IE7 + IE8 + IE6 at the same time, google : Internet Explorer Collection. You can also remove Windows Media Player (with XPLite) and install WMLite (installs core stuff for streaming, check their home page for info)
