i bought the above machine 2 weeks ago with vista premium thinking it would be easy to downgrade to xp as per the salesmans assurance ive had many calls to sony europe about this but they refuse any driver help .is there anywhere that i can download all of the drivers and slipstream to my new copy of xp home .

Hi scrap1 and welcome to DriverHeaven.

You will find full instructions within another part of this forum. Go to HOWTO downgrade from Vista to XP for laptops and follow all the instructions including the bit about the graphics drivers.

As far as the advice from the salesman is concerned, according to the post to which I have linked:

When the laptop manufacturer has shipped the laptop with Vista pre-installed it means that they are only supporting that operating system and therefore some or all features of the laptop may not work on other operating systems.

Just realised you have the Intel 4500m graphics which could be a problem getting the XP drivers that will work on your Vaio.

If it doesn't work why don't you use Vista? Vista is good Or if you wait until October 22nd Windows 7 will have its official launch and could work well with your lappy.
