.Help!!!!!.network controller driver needed

i downgraded from vista to xp ... YAay

...
i found drivas for my toshiba a215-s7444 system.. btu my wi fi dosent work .. itnstalss nd shows the found new hardware but dosent show up on my network connections.... i checked devive manager and there's "?" on network controller.. itried but i dont no where to get the drivers help.. ineed my Wireless

I've had a similar problem though with my graphics card the drivers weren't working well with my service pack, have you installed latest service pack i.e Service Pack 3.

The other thing could also be that you are using old drivers incompatible with your version of windows, download them if you think that could be the issue.
Always make sure to uninstall old drivers when you are installing new ones, you dont wanna have driver clashes

Yeah i got the drivers from toshiba support and with driver detective..but it couldnt find any driver for my net work controller... i will try to in stall the service pack 3.... i'll get back to ya

Network controller? Maybe you mean network adapter? Most likely some model of Atheros 802.11? Need more details...

If you are using xp and the drivers you are trying to use arent digitally signed ot recognised by xp that can happen, the way I get around it is by

step 1 click properties on my computer
step 2 hardware tab
step 3 device manager
step 4 right click problematic device
step 5 update driver
step 6 manually update driver (select yes this time only radio button)
step 7 install from specific location
this part is important go to where the driver is located and select the folder of that driver, if its in a zipped file uncompress or extract the files then select the folder
If i dont know the file i just go through the folders one after the other untill I get to the compatible driver,
if it says found driver which may be incompatible with this version of windows just select install anyway.
