I tried this (Emulator) and what a pain 3.1 was!! (You couldnt just close an app,you had to click 2 times )What a difference between 3.1 and 95! |

Yes, it was a pain. When I moved to the PC from the Amiga I bought OS/2. It ran Windows 3.1 apps much better than Windows did.

OS/2 used windows code to run windows apps.... a version was available for those that already owned windows 3.1/ 3.11. "OS/2 for Windows" or some such.... During install it asked for certain windows floppies and integrated that code into the OS/2...... Nasty install, I think I had to juggle about 25-30 floppies just for the OS.... then add MS office on top of that (another 18-20 floppies)
Never could get sound to work though Hated OS/2 but several businesses demanded it just to run windows apps. Someone told them it was more "professional". ![]() Windows 3.11 was very stable though and at the time, quite the OS.
