USB generic Audio device disappearing
Hi eveyone,
I'll try to explain my problem to see if someone may help me. I have an audio periferal (TC Helicon Voice Live 2) that connects to PC via USB and Generic USB audio driver. In a computer (i tested) everythign work correctly, but in my Notebook altough it install correctly and found driver. I see it in Multimedia properties/hardware as a device perfectly working, with all drivers working But when I go to Multimedia properties/audio to select as input output or midi device it don't appear in the menu. (I already selected in hardware menu "use this device.. etc...") I think is some problem with the registry, but I don't know what to do... please help |

Re: USB generic Audio device disappearing
I'm assuming you're using XP on both your desktop and laptop as the method for setting the audio device is for XP.
When you go to your audio properties, ignore the midi playback. What you want to look for is the sound playback, next to the image of a speaker (the top drop-down in the image below) and, I'm assuming from the type of item, the sound recording device (the middle drop-down in the image below). ![]() You may also want to check to see if you have the latest software installed.

Re: USB generic Audio device disappearing
Yes I have the latest sw and in contact with support to discover the problem (thet happen to other people too...)
Thanks for the image posted.. so I can try to explain pbetter the problem... Yes I have XP posted in both systems. First of all, I cannot ignore the midi setting as this is the main things I need, I don't use the device as audio device, but mainly as a preamp, I need the ISB connection and the midi feature, as it communicate via sysex with the pc to save, store and manage updates, and presets, so "no midi connection, no working" Second when I try to find the device in this three menu (playback, recording and midi) it's not present, all the other devices are visible but not the one called "usb speaker" (the generic usb device driver that connect Voicelive 2). At the same time if I look for the device installed in the 5 tab "hardweare" I find it, and it's signed as perfectly working... |
