Issue changing Background image

I have read into the old forum post from 2005 about issues with not being able to change the background.
I have a similar issue, but not exactly to what these people needed.

Starting off:
Nothing from the 2005 post fixes my issue. I had no regedit Wallpaper/active desktop keys in the locations mentioned.

I did find an atricle about the Wallpaper at
HKEY_USERS/DEFAULT/Control Panel/Desktop
In this folder is a Wallpaper registery key. It had a default "HPsomething" (default background image my guess).
I deleted this and am now able to change the image on the physical box.

My issue:
When I remote into this machine I am unable to see the image. It never used to be this way because I remote into 3 other machines that show the correct desktop image. The images helps explain which PC a user is using if I am ever out.

When I try to change the image from the remoted computer everything is grayed out except changing desktop icons. When I plug a monitor into the physical box I am able to see my set desktop background and can change it to anything I want.

Anyone know what's wrong here that is causing the image not to show through a remote connection? Not a top priority issue, but can't figure out why this has changed when nothing has been changed on the machine.

Thanks

Re: Issue changing Background image

Have you checked to ensure that the remote desktop app is set to allow the desktop backgound?
To check:
Options > experience > desktop background checkbox

Failing that, check the registry options to see if you have the HPsomething key in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

What he said.

My thingking is that it may be related to roaming profile? Such may not allow what you want.

I know that networking and login-profiles is fun and games all the times for those that 'play video games all day for a living'.
