Ok I'm an MSN messager user, I use msn messager 6 right now.
But I dont want it running all of the time. But even when I right click on it and click on close. The "msmsgs.exe" will still be running in the task manager And the POS!!! Even if I close it there the damn thing will come right back and it use's 8700k of memory! How can I disable this and still use msn messager? And I looked its not in my service's anywhere. If it was then I could at least I could set it to manual.

tools options... then General... uncheck a few things there.. (leave program running in background)..... strangely, if you have these already done... load up the WINDOWS MESSENGER and check those settings as well (had the same problem.... took me awhile to catch on)

But there was still a massager folder in my program files. And in it was msmsgs.exe that would start its self up and run. I would shut it down in task manager and a few Min's later it would pop right back on I tried to delete the whole massager fold in my program files but windows wouldn't let me So then I remembered reading somewhere that if you change the name of a program it wont start up. So I changed msmsgs.exe to crap but the damn thing still would start its self up So how I finally got rid of it was I moved the msmsgs.exe out to my desk top, Then I right clicked on everything inside the massager folder and it let me delete it all. Then it finally let me delete the folder its self, cause it was empty I guess But this still left me with this cursed msmsgs.exe on my desk top that was STILL FORKING RUNNING!!! So I rebooted and quickly moved it over to the recycle bin and then emptyed it ![]() And now the damn thing is gone for good I hope. And I can still use msn 6
