This happened once before to me and it seemed that all I had to do was make sure that I had the settings for WMV-type links to ALWAYS use Media Player 9. But, that's not working this time around.
Has someone changed the MIME settings on the sight to not allow movies to automatically play? Or is there another suggestion I can try on my end? What's happening is I get a white page "cannot be displayed". I have to right click and Save Target as..... Thanks! EDIT: Disregard. I found the solution. It was deep within the Options of Media Player, itself. Seems installing the latest MMC 8.7 caused the 'autoplay' function for Media Player Video to get blacked out. I rechecked the option for Video and it's working again.

Even though this particular description deals with e-mail, MIME also establishes how files are treated that are posted on WEBsites. I used to have to deal a lot with this sort of thing a few years ago with AOL email. (Man, am I glad THOSE days are behind me. ) What's happening with your QuickTime is that whenever you use Media Player, it automatically resets the files that are associated with it. Then, when you use QT, it 'asks' if you want to change the settings for it to use those types of files. Kind of the difference between a bully and a gentleman.

I'm sure that Dyre is addicted to posting something in the Feedback forum every week even though it doesn't belong here

![]() However, when the problem first started up again, and I couldn't fix it after several attempts, I had to ask if it was something that went awry in the forum settings. Now that it's fixed, yes, it belongs in the WOS forum.
