Page File
If I've got a RAID 0 array with two partitions (c:=8GB and d:=the rest) and another 80gb disc on another IDE controller, where should I put the page file??
It is said that it should be on the fastest drives, which would be on the D partition on the RAID array. But I've also heard that it should be on another physical harddrive. Oh, and also...how large should the paging file be? I've got 512mb of ram |

It depend on your size of the D: Drive if it's bigger then the C Drive. Why is your C: Drive so small???.... |

Well I'm runnin RAID yet, but I'm planning to do that. Right now I'm runnin my Maxtor 80GB split up in two partitions. 8gb with windows on and about 70 gb for the D drive.
But I've seen some configurations on the net, about having one IDE drive as the "Windows" drive and the RAID array as a file array. But wouldn't it be the best configuration if Windows is installed on the RAID array?? Also, is it recommended to use RAID 0 setup at all, or should I just use the two drives as usual?? (have ordered two Barracuda SATA drives) |

Well the thing is that its SATA RAID and it's only two SATA connections on the NF7-S motherboard. But I think I will connect the two SATA disks as RAID and use as primary disks. Although splitting it up in two partitions.
Or should I perhaps just install windows on a seperate ATA 133 harddrive and use the two RAID drives as a dedicated filesystem?? |

basically what I've typically done is this
Hook up my RAID array Create 8 partitions 1 6GB Partition for Windows 1 60GB Partition for Programs 1 1GB Partition for Page File with Page File set to 768MB 1 20GB Partition for eMule 1 20GB Partition for Bittorrent 1 20GB Partition for kazaa 2 15GB Partitons for me and my fiances documents So with our 2 80GB drives it ended up like that However you can feel free to do it however you want
