Windoze cant update
Whenever I try and do a windows update, I download the file, install, restart, then get error similar to
Cannot convert %1 to %2 Cannot convert %1 to %2 Cannot convert %1 to %2 Cannot convert %1 to %2 Cannot convert %1 to %2 If windows fails to startup, blah blah blah. This has happened before when I tried to install Sony's itunes,(which has since been uninstalled). Any Idea what this error is and how I can fix it. Seems like registry or system file is corrupted??

this'is the info i can get at the moment for the error "Cannot convert %1 to %2",
and i've never seen any post/messages re this error after win updates before, i'll look up later and will post if i found something.. Errors with an ODBC state marked "handled by ODBC driver" are not returned to ODBC applications, as the ODBC driver carries out the required actions. http://www.ianywhere.com/developer/p...9/00000012.htm |

Alright, I repeated upgrade and copied error verbatum. (it was quite dissimilar from what I first posterd, sry
)%1:%2 Windows could not upgrade the file %1 from %2 %1:%2 Windows could not upgrade the file %1 from %2 %1:%2 Windows could not upgrade the file %1 from %2 %1:%2 Windows could not upgrade the file %1 from %2 Windows could not upgrade one or more system files. Windows may work improperly, etc. I could not find my exact error in your link yet, though they do look similar.

Thanks for the help, you made me copy it exactly and inspired me to google the question. LOL the answer was right on M$ site, problem solved. (had to rename wininit.ini file & fix registry)
