stupid windows question

hi all,
this probably quite simple but i didnt figure it out yet.
how do i save the location of my icons of the desktop so when i uninstall/reinstall the ATI drivers i will be able to get the icons back in the right order on the desktop?

they'll always be the same icons on the desktop. Provided after driver install, you move back to the same resolution.

Also, you can right click on the desktop, choose "arrange icons by" and either customize them, or sort by date, name, etc...

btw im on win2k.
once i go back to the 1024*768 the icons are not in the order they where they are just set rundom on the center of the desktop and then i have to manualy move them 1 by 1.
setting them in order by date name etc wont help me as they are organised in a way convinient for me like games on the right apps on the left etc.
so i guess this doesnt have a simple solution after all
