DirectX 9.0c Redistributable

This download provides the DirectX 9.0c end-user multi-languaged redistributable that developers can include with their product. The redistributable license agreement covers the terms under which developers may use the Redistributable. For full details please review the DirectX SDK EULA.txt and DirectX Redist.txt files located in the license directory.

So if we download this that would indicate that we would have DirectX 9.0c without waiting for the Windows XP Service Pack 2?

not the easiest answer for me to give,i already have sp2 rc2 with dx9.0c installed.lets see if another member who can confirm this.

plus i have download this as this will be very usefull.

is this a self installer?

comes as the same file type as dx9.0b redist.but you do need to extract to a seperate folder and theres the setup icon in there.

So in simple english, this is the Official 9.0C and we can download it and not have to await for the WindowsXP SP 2?

as this i direct from microsofts download section.id presume so for now.but will add at this time the main dx page is still dx9.0b.

i just downloaded and installed it here on my pc at work and everything seems ok no errors poping up, i'll install it on my home pc tonight

system information shows it as directx 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904), guess these are the official

All the previous Redistributable packages for DirectX came with some apps for tweaking settings. I'm sure this one does, too. I've downloaded it, but haven't had a chance to install it yet.

not really mostly adds PS 3.0 support and some other minor stuff

Nice to have it official instead of ripped out of SP2 RC2, but since there's nothing really new, I'm just going to wait until next month when I get it with SP2.

I've had this for weeks...when I installed one of the rickety pre-release SP2 packs. Just did a DX diag to make sure...
"dx9.0c".....

Anywhere you wish. You're gonna have to run the installer (which is one of the extracted files) which accesses the other extracted files so unless you intend on keeping the install files, the desktop should be fine, where its easy to delete later.

Good point. I checked there immediately and found out that it wasn't there. Checking out the original link, it does say it's for "Software Developers". It's not meant for the normal user since MS wants SP2 to deliver DX9.0c, but it seems to be fine so.. install away

P.S - Bah! There's no way to silently install this yet, but oh well.. SP2 will be here soon

I guess I'll have to leave this out of my CD.

thats were i were a littles surprised to see this out.redists normally follow a short time after the online install.
