since u have windows xp, this should be easy to fix. the first thing u wanna try is going to my computer, right clicking the dvd drive and selecting properties. then click on autoplay. check to make sure that all the settings are what u want them to be. if that doesnt make ur autoplay work then right click on my computer, go to properties. click on hardware tab. click on device manager. click the plus sign next to DVD/CD-ROM drives, right click ur dvd drive and click properties. click the properties tab and if theres any option there for autoplay, make sure its checked.

Go to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. look for autorun and change this service to "Automatic".

Im having exactly the same problem with XP but only on my account
We have three accounts for different family members, all administrators, but mine is the only one where the autorun feature doesn't work any more, it used to so its probably something I have done without realising it. I have looked at all the things mentioned above but I still cant get it to work ![]() The autorun feature also used to work when I plugged my digital camera in to download pics . A dialogue box used to open asking me what I wanted to do with the pics. This still works on the other account but not on mine....Im stumped with this one
