windows media player won't play mp3

yes i just installed sp2 on my pc and now i can't play any mp3's with windows media player i tried reinstalling media player and still nothing it plays anything else but mp3 or wma its really getting me aggrivated please help!@!!!!!

Hmm.. Looks like your MP3 Codec went kaput. Have you tried re-installing WMP9?

Or

You can try installing just this MP3 Codec.

but i can play them on real player or any other music program but i just like wmp alot and i tried reistalling 9 and still nothign imma try that mp3 codec thing now

nope i tried and nothing shyt is busted im so pissed it happen the second i installed sp2 and may i ask another question y when i boot the blue welcome logo stay's there for like 10secs its very annoying it never did that before??????

Oops, I thought you meant you tried to install other media players.

Anyways, bummer. I don't know about the blue welcome screen staying there, there maybe something loading.

Anyways, I've moved it into the Windows forum so Net (He's our resident Windows Guru) can take a look at your problem.

Update: I did some investigating and I found this MS Knowledge Base Article. Do you receive and error? If so, download the fix located in the article. If you don't receive and error while playing the MP3 file, download it anyways.

i had a problem b4 that wmp wouldnt play my mp3 it'd actually play it but produce no sound i had to knock it down a version but this was in the beta
