Normal with SP2?
I got windows XP professional and used a file downloaded off the internet weighin in at 250mb+ (networking and all) of SP2. I installed it and now, at the startup when u see the windows loading bar, the words PROFESSIONAL arne't there... Normal?

that's a change MS made with SP2,
Home and Professional are removed from the screen you see now they look the same. but all other locations like System Properties, Help -> About Windows still show Professional or Home.. |

but then is it normal i loose 10% plus performance? Cuz i'm getting that in doom3 with the cat4.8 and it's annoying...

CPU drop normal?
Okay, I just formatted my Pc and have an IMMENSE drop in CPU (in 3dmark03) from a good 642 (3ghz northwood) to a 250pts! In the bios, it detecs my CPU correctly so anyways, i formatted again but still no go! is it possible i damaged it? (and i'm running sp1 right now cuz sp2 sucks)

I noticed that yesterday, reinstalling XP pro with a slipstreamed SP2 and it didn't say anything about it being professional edition, I hadn't really thought about it until now, I don't restart my system much so I don't pay much attention to that screen.

don't miss it much, mine has always been using boot.ini switches /NOGUIBOOT..

i noticed this after sp2 as well...but i just attributed it to having had mine changed. it still has the blue bar though.
