System Specs

How many processes do you have running?
I was just curious about processes . . . tell me how many processes you have running on a fresh boot.

1. restart or boot up your computer
2. log in to Windows, if applicable
3. wait till the hourglass is gone from the pointer
4. let the computer sit for another 20 seconds or so as Windows settles in (sometimes a process or two runs for a bit at startup, then drops off)
5. open the Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del or Ctrl+Shift+Esc or right-click taskbar)

Read the number of processes in the lower left corner of the Task Manager. Do not adjust or subtract from it, just give the total number (including Task Manager itself, and System, etc.), the exact number that's in that box.

I have 27. A good 10 of them are Mcaffe, 2-3 are for the laptop features(volume buttons and the touchpad), and the rest I have no clue.

I got 38 going and I've not finished my rebuild yet!

3 seem to be bluetooth related, trend micro has about 6 on the go and I can put two more down to palm apps

i've got 17 without turning OFF any services aside from system restore...

i run a clean install... well.. if i killed rundll32 (for my Digifire 7.1 for super quick access to my audio controls) i'd have less...

I use to have under 10 but now there are a TON of these stupidass SVChost things. There are a bunch and if I try to cancel a process it reboots. grrr
