[color=#000000]I have a problem with the card of sound (nforce drivers) and I install it and after that its ok the sound but l lost cd ROMs! And in device manager it is with exclamation mark and I tried reinstall ,nothing also to uninstall... nothing , I change the cable from the ide 1 to ide 2 still nothing also I tried to install older drivers and windows default drivers still nothing [/color]

For those who use Midnight Heaven theme (as i do)......black fonts on dark grey background is hard to read.

best not to use black fonts.

Try to reinstall the chip set driver and install everything in the package; then reboot and go into the device manager. If the optical (cd) drives still show up with ! marks right click on them and uninstall. Then reboot and when Windows reinstalls them see if it works after that point.

Go to the device manager again and look at the IDE Controllers, then look at the main controller or primary\secondary IDE channel depending on what you have listed.

Look at the secondary channel where the optical drives are and see what modes they are set to and make sure it's set correctly. Also double-check your BIOS and see if the drives appear in there ok (just to be sure).

Have you tried going back to the default windows drivers? From device manager select the controller, do a manual driver update, and in the Have Disk window you should have the option to install the originals

When dealing with the nForce drivers, it might also be good to keep in mind that you're able to make use of Microsoft's IDE drivers, OR nVidia's SW-IDE drivers.

Try installing this....

if you haven't it's a driver remix 5.03 but it's newer then the 5.10's that was recently released. See if this helps
