Microsoft reports DirectX 9.0c installation issue?
I just read a message on one of the webforums I moderate. I would like to see if anyone can verify this information:

NICE! Thanks for the heads up. I just checked and all those files for me over here are not updated. I'll boot to safe mode and update again.

Well I booted into safe mode and ran the DX 9.0c installation, then rebooted and the computer wouldn't boot into normal mode. When it started to load the GUI the computer would reboot and I couldn't get back into normal mode.
System restore saved my arse but I dunno what happened. Whatever, I'll run with outdated files I guess as part of the default 'botched up' DX 9.0c installation.

All three of mine read "..... "00:56:42"
Hmm.. I wonder how the files could be wrong, when the time stamp is actually more recent.

i have to buy a new xp first if ya know what i mean sp2 wont work for me. Hey can you tell me which is better xp home or professional? All is i do is play games and browse the forums, so i am thinking home will prolly suit me fine but i dont know what the differences are. Any help you could shed for me would be greatly appreciated. supposedly pro runs a bit faster...but IDK, never seen any articles comparing them, so it might just be a rumor.
