Sata drives installation ....

... with XP slipstreamed with SP2 do i still need to press the f6 key to install 3rd party drivers ?? im a newbie to this sata drives game

be gentle with me chaps

and are their any issues with Abit's NF7S rev 2 and Radeon 9800 pro cards ??

Hi there.

Yes, you still need to press F6 during setup in your case. You can avoid this by making your own install cd with nlite which has an option to intergrate SATA and RAID drivers.
nlite is found here: http://nuhi.msfn.org/ it's a very easy app to understand so take a look.

As to the 9800Pro and NF7S rev, no i don't know of any issues but do know 2 people running that combo without problems.
