Depending on your chipset you need to find the SATA drivers on your install CD and/or the MB's manufacture's website. You also sometimes can make it read from the MB CD to find the SATA drivers as well.

the way i understand it is you are only installing one drive?if so you dont need to do an f6 install of raid drivers.that option is for scsi and raid only i believe.if you are setting up a raid array then your driver version depends on what raid contoller you are going to use.dont use the ones on your hardrive cd or mobo cd cause they are probably outdated.later

this is a joke right!
i would think that even if you are useing an external sata card that windows would install generic sata drivers.you might want to create a sig so we can see your specs.DO YOU ONLY HAVE ONE DRIVE?

If you're only using one sata drive disable any RAID options in the bios and see if windows install will see it without hitting F6 and loading drivers. Of course this all depends on your specific board so please do tell us which one it is

I have a SAta myself and u need Press F6 ,and load the drivers from a floppy.
Put the files on a floppy because windows ask for a floppy by a clean install.
