System Specs

The Mouse is USB 2.0 and the Hub is USB 1.0, 1.0 is slower, but it's still compatible. If it's plugged straight into the motherboard and not hub, then either the way it's made on the board is implemented like a hub, or it's detecting it wrong and you need to get the correct drivers for your motherboard.

It seems to be telling you to switch it to the hub, because that is hi-speed. Try the other USB ports you have, and if nothing solves it, try it in someone elses Pc.
