DirectX.cpl is older version help pls.....
found this in the DX tab of DXDiag
The file directx.cpl is an old version, which could cause problems. now 1. is this a problem i need to address? and 2. i tried to reinstall DX9.c but it doesnt reinstall over again, how can i reinstall? thx |

I think that is the directx control panel applet. Unless you are having problems, I wouldn't mess with it. I don't even have that file listed when I run dxdiag. As the old saying goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."
You can try using a DX remover and reinstalling DX9c. http://www.majorgeeks.com/download509.html |

The file directx.cpl is actually not a part of DirectX, but a control panel file that can be added or removed separately to get an additional control panel information applet. For instance the Omega drivers package include this file, and if at any time a newer Omega driver package would happen to come with an older file compared to a previous version then I would trust that there is something that is better about the file in the newer driver package. In either case its being there or not has no effect on graphics functionality.
