No sound_"Driver is enabled but has not been started"

I seem to have lost my sound..Although all the drivers are up2date,I can read this from the device
"Driver is enabled but has not been started".
anyone got any ideas please, thx

Did you enable it in bios? If its a motherboard sound?

Windows audio service may be stopped / disabled.

try disablign the device and re-enabling it.

If that doesn't help, perhaps try uninstalling the drivers, rebooting, reinstallign them, and rebootign again...hope that helps

opk....what sound are we using, creative labs soundblaster, audigy, AC'97, soundstorm...???
