PC-Slow shut down ?
hello,
I made a firmware update on my dvdr-rom drive as advised by the vendor and after all this, everything is working fine except my PC takes very long to shut down thereafter. Does someone here have a proposal what may be causing this. My only problem is the time to shut down is too long Thank you |

Not really sure how a firmware update might affect your shutdown times, but you could try doing some maintainence on the pc and see if it helps at all.
-Defragment your disks -Use a registry cleaner (easy cleaner or registry mechanic) -Check your msconfig(start, run, type msconfig, hit the startup tab) maybe something thats a process is eating up cpu cycles, or causing that delayed shutdown. Sorry if its not helpful, but its worth a shot. Sometimes a fragmented disk just gets plain slow after awhile.

or you can run tuneXP and enable 'fast shutdown' and also try lessening the 'autoshutdown non-responsive programs' timer...default is 30 seconds, i think
