Imaging hard drive

I have a mail server that I would like to set up a second drive in an use a program to create a image of the primary drive. I would like it to do it on the fly. Any sugestions? I have been manually backing this up every other day. for 5 years and its getting old. I also backup the registry so I dont lose user acounts and passwords.

Im using Windows 2000 Server.

i've tried the Hard Disk Manager 6.0 Deployment Version at a friend business and it's very good,
lower license cost will be the Professional version of this same product but without SID Changer, Multiple Image Access, Volume Licensing, still suppost Windows NT/2000/2003 Server and Windows PE, BartPE.

if you don't need partition manager that included in Hard Disk Manager, you can check out Drive Backup 6.0 Professional Version. and other products too..

since you like to change your way of doing data protection, backup and recovery,
also check out hardware raid solutions, RAID 1, 5, 0+1 or 10,
this may be more complicated to implement and more cost but check it out anyway before you decide on buying anything.

I went with Drive Backup 6.0 Professional I have Powerquest Partition Magic 8 so I dont need the partion software. I found a demo of it and It looks to be easy to confiq and also has a scheduler so I can set it to backup at the wee hours of the morning. Thanks for your help crtl-alt-del!! Most appreciated! Also I have raid on 2 other servers but on this machine It was not cost effective to do so.

No problem. Glad you like the Drive backup.

Funky Monkey,

Ghost 9 is not designed for Windows 2000 Server.
it may not be able to do a server cloning.

K. so how you like the Ghost 9? do you use it now?
i've checked it out but i still like the old Norton Ghost 2003 better, it's working very well for what i needed, hope there'll be nothing change in Windows that causes it to not working.

btw, the registered user of the Paragon Drive Backup 6.0 Pro Version will also get a Recovery CD Image file and a plugin for Bart's PE Builder.

partition magic 8.0 is really good for doing that kind of stuff. I have partition magic 7.0 and it works great, but it can't be done in windows. 8.0 you can use it in windows partition a drive, copy a drive do everything while in windows. I'd say like best buy would be a good place to look for it, if not some place that carries alot of software.
